Ramen lovers rejoice - cult Japanese favourite, Ryo's Noodles in Crows Nest, is setting up shop in Bondi Junction.

Ryo's will expand to the eastern suburbs with its spin-off on Ebley Street, Bondi Junction (near Westfield), in the former site of Chikyu-Ya.

Arguably serving up some of the best ramen in Sydney, Ryo's is a cult favourite evidenced by the constant queue of people outside the bright orange Crows Nest eatery.

While the Bondi eatery is yet to finalise its menu, the Crows Nest outlet offers 10 types of ramen to choose from – half with chicken soup, and the other half with a rich pork tonkotsu broth.

But the eatery has confirmed that its best-selling customer favourite "Ramen #2" will be on the menu – a tonkotsu soy-based soup with slices of fatty roast pork, boiled egg, mushroom, fish cake, a nori seaweed sheet and wilted vegetables ($12.50).

Renovations of the Bondi Junction venue are expected to take more than a month, with plans for an October opening.
